Toshiba T5F52 (MIPS R8000)
Toshiba T5F52 (MIPS R8000) |
Notes: | The chips aren't marked "Rxxxx" as for usual Toshiba's MIPS products; they are instead marked T5F52 (R8000) and T5F55 (R8010). This is because the two chips are part of a chipset sold by Toshiba as "R8000 Power Platform". They aren't sold as "separate" ICs.
R8000s are mainly used in SGI products such as Indigo2 and Onyx workstation (75 and 90 MHz, single or 2 - 4 way SMP).
The R8000 was the first step of the MIPS family in the field of supercomputing: >300 MFLOPS at 75 MHz! /UMMR |
